Thandai when laced with the intoxicating bhang, make one sing, dance and go wild. Infact, bhang thandai is used as a mood setter for the festival of Holi. A wonderful and a distinct blend of spices to give ravishing drink. You should really taste it to see what it really is!!

ReplyDeleteOnce again, pics are ravishing, and you've shared a great recipe for this time of year! Question: do I also grind up the poppy seeds and peppercorns, or keep them whole, then strain them after?
ReplyDeleteI thank all of you for your lovely comments!
ReplyDeleteMuneeba: Thank you so much! I'm stressing on grinding almonds, cardamom and fennel seeds first as they take little time to get grinded. You can later on add poppy seeds and peppercorns, grind again. Add milk and blend just until combined. After all the blending, you need to strain before you serve. I hope this has helped.
We have scorching heat here now and this Thandai looks pretty good for the heat here. I did not know that fennel was added to this drink.
